Associated Press photographer Julie Jacobson will discuss her experiences in Haiti, Iraq and Afghanistan as a photojournalist. She will be part of a panel talking about journalists in tough situations.

MULTIMEDIA WORKSHOP FOR THE VISUAL PHOTOJOURNALIST
Location: Photo Room Runyon/Laurel
All-day workshop for the visual journalist training for multimedia. This will be a hands-on interactive workshop and not a lecture for the visual photographer from those who are starting out in multimedia to those who do it daily looking to learn more skills. Topics include FCP, shooting video from DSLR cameras, Soundslides, video editing, lighting and sound techniques. Will have some loaner audio recorders from Olympus. Attendees should bring video camera, DSLR and laptop with FCP installed.

TOWN HALL MEETING WITH HYUNGWON KANG
Location: Hollywood Ballroom, Studio B
Reuters photographer Hyungwon Kang will be part of a panel discussion at the AAJA Town Hall Meeting about revisiting the Los Angeles riots 18 years later. Kang was working for the Los Angeles Times, who won a team Pulitzer-Prize for their efforts.

JAPANESE AMERICAN NATIONAL MUSEUM WITH STAN HONDA
Location: 369 East First Street, Los Angeles – Little Tokyo
Agence France Presse photojournalist Stan Honda will lead a photographic tour of his project, “Moving Walls,” of the Heart Mountain (Wyoming) internment camp. Honda will also talk and show pictures in a program at the museum about the 1994 recovery of barracks near the site of the camp where Japanese Americans were interned during World War II. He will speak about his documentation of the project and his perspective as a Sansei whose parents were interned in Arizona. Museum volunteers, several who were also interned during the war, will also speak about their experience in Wyoming and the reconstruction of the barracks.
