Dear AAJA photojournalists,
AAJA photo conventioneers had a great convention in Boston. About 45 photojournalists attended the-four day event/party. Not bad for a convention with only 650 total attendees.
Next year’s convention in Los Angeles on August 4-7. Let me know if you have any more ideas for the LA convention. This is my wish list of panels and parties:
-Two-day hands-on workshop on multimedia (one day hands-on multimedia shooting & one day hands-on FCP) – August 4 and 5
-Multimedia & Photography ShootOut with theme: HollyWierd” – August 4 to 6
-AP photographers Nick Ut and Jae C. Hong. New and old guard AP photographers – August 6
-Freelancing – the next step after laid off/leaving your staff job – – August 6
-Sportsshooter – August 6
-Live Photography Auction – August 6
-Live student critiques with photo editors/photographers from LA Times, Orange County Register, Riverside Press Enterprise, Associated Press – August 7
-Dim sum lunch in Chinatown, Monterey Park or San Gabriel Valley (off site) – August 8
-Ramen in Little Tokyo (off site) – August 7
-Tour of Japanese American Museum in Little Tokyo with AFP’s Stan Honda as tour guide for his display of Japanese internment camps (off site) – August 7
-Korean BBQ (off site) – August 5
-Student Project – August 2-7
-Disneyland trip – August 2-4
-Author showcase – photographer/authors who have published a book in the past year – August 6
-Beach party – August 7
